Mudras 👌🏻

Mudras

My first recollection of a Mudra was waking up during a turbulent time in my life, as I awoke I recognized that my body was in Eagle pose. I stayed in it and untwined gentle as I honoured the space and my body of this beautiful sign it was showing me. Body Mudra, I called it.

It wasn’t until my teacher training, that I fully understood the true depth of knowledge that reigns in our body.

My observation during classes in the west while I sat waiting to start a Yoga class.

I would be transfixed on the person who was holding their fingers in a particular position later to find out it was the ever-present Mudra - Gyana Mudra. But sticky beak me was wondering if they knew what it was doing and what they were actually doing. Yes, I was Judging!!!

November 2017 I would meet a wise man in India who would tell me. ”It was your want for knowledge, to understand it, that created that judgment”.

Regardless if they understood or not they were doing what their body was saying to do.

This conversation took place in New Delhi just before my teacher training in Rishikesh India . Where I would start the journey of returning to the nature of our own internal knowledge; always, forever learning..

Over the last year, I have now spent hours in Meditation, putting my wands ( hands & fingers) into all sorts of contortions, feeling the energy shift and change during these positions.

72,000 Nadis in our body, nerve energy grids that reflect abundance and constriction in the body. Depending on what is needed. The flow is for sure a desired effect.

Gyana Mudra

Gyana Mudra , Mudra of Knowledge. .

The index finger representing individual consciousness , Jivatma, The thumb repressing supreme , with the index bowing to the supreme knowledge . This MUdra  Known for its said wisdom, knowledge , A Mudra seen in many  YOGA studios preparing for meditation and deep connection to divine knowledge.

Beautiful Mudra to begin with.

Varun Mudra

Varun Mudra,

Known for helping with the element of water in the body, also emotions and communication . Voice helping with clear expression. Again this is a personal discretion and what i felt while doing these. Water associated with the pinky. The fingers representing all the 5 elements . I will get into that next blog.

Dhyani Mudra

Dhyani Mudra

Place the hands over the top of each other making a shallow bowl. i prefer the left on top , then place the thumbs touching, this is an amazing meditation ver restful ,peaceful , presence ,awakening connecting the wisadom within as we meditate . This as i say above is my personal journey. Please be sure to seek and ask opinion of your doctor.

Enjoy the bliss of discovery into the seat of the soul.

Bliss & Hugs

Namaste.
